When considering getting a real estate license or selling full time, it’s not uncommon to have some questions about how the industry works. One common question we see all of the time is “Who pays for Marketing?”.
The short answer is “You do”. As a Real Estate Agent, you are an independent contractor running your own business. You not only get to decide how your business is run but you also have the responsibility of paying for things like signs, postcards, licenses, and whatever else you want to take advantage of.
There are a few exceptions to this rule. Some brokerages will pay for or provide various incentives for you to join them. Sometimes marketing is a part of that. Additionally, you will most likely be faced with the decision to join a real estate “Team”. Some real estate teams will also pay for or provide marketing for you.
