Hey everybody, welcome back to another episode of After The License, the podcast where we help real estate agents build their business, specifically trying to help new agents find out what to do after they get their license. So, as always, you can check us out at afterthelicense.com. We’ve got answers to a ton of common questions on there. It really helps with all of the fun podcasting charts and all of that fun stuff. Today, I want to talk about, “is it important as real estate agents to have a Facebook business page?” A Facebook business page may be important to you if you 1) Want to have a following, a presence on Facebook, but 2) Ultimately if you ever want to do Facebook advertising a Facebook business page is required. So this is something that a lot of real estate agents hem and haw about, have some confusion around, they say, “hey, all of my friends or family are connected to me on my personal page. Why would I then want to go and create a Facebook business page?” And the answer is simple, Facebook Advertising. If you ever want to run any kind of ad, promotion for your listing, lead generation ad, you’re going to need a Facebook business page. But above and beyond that, what I always tell people is, the people connected to your personal page aren’t always going to want to hear about what you have going on in real estate, what your business has going on. So having both a personal page and a business page can be really helpful for that. Continue to use your personal page as just that, a place to connect with friends, family, and occasionally, maybe once a month or a couple times a month at max, share something about your business. And you can even share a post from your Facebook business page. This lets people in your life know, “hey, this is a reminder, I’m in real estate, I sell houses, I help people move,” all that fun stuff, but it doesn’t overwhelm them. Too often people who just have Facebook personal pages and not a business page are posting real estate, real estate, real estate. And it’s me, me, me type stuff, right? New listing, new sale, new client, new sold, whatever it is, and eventually people will tune out. Create a Facebook business page, post that stuff there. Also post community content, we can talk about that more in another episode, but post your business stuff there. People who want to follow your business can follow that business page, and then occasionally share stuff to your personal page. And the added benefit is with a Facebook business page you can run ads. And even if you don’t think you’re going to need Facebook ads, it’s something I recommend. Even if you get a listing, it’s nice to be able to say “hey, we can run some advertisement to promote this listing.” You can then run ads with a Facebook business page. I hope that was helpful.
